The short version
- ✓CASP+ is now branded SecurityX
- ✓Current exam code: CAS-005
- ✓It remains CompTIA's expert-level security certification
- ✓Existing CASP+ holders keep a valid credential
CompTIA has retired the CASP+ name. Its advanced cybersecurity certification is now called SecurityX, delivered through exam code CAS-005.
SecurityX sits at the expert tier of CompTIA's cybersecurity pathway, above Security+ and CySA+. The CAS-005 update reflects significant changes to the day-to-day work of senior security engineers and architects, including governance, risk, and the security of emerging technologies.
If you hold CASP+, your certification remains valid — this is a rebrand plus an exam refresh, not an invalidation. New candidates should prepare for CAS-005 / SecurityX rather than the retired CAS-004 materials.
