Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: March 2026
Short version: Some links on CertPath are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. We only link to resources we think are genuinely useful. Our editorial opinions are not for sale.
What is an affiliate link?
An affiliate link is a special URL that contains a tracking code identifying CertPath as the referring site. When you click an affiliate link and complete a qualifying purchase, the retailer or course platform pays us a referral commission. This is how CertPath generates revenue to cover research, hosting, and development costs — allowing us to keep the site free to use.
The price you pay is identical whether or not you use our affiliate link. You are never charged more for clicking through from CertPath.
Affiliate programs we participate in
CertPath currently participates in the following affiliate programs:
Impact.com
We are publishers on the Impact.com affiliate network. Through Impact.com, we may earn commissions from purchases made on platforms including:
- Udemy (online courses)
- Coursera (online courses and professional certificates)
- HubSpot (CRM and marketing software)
- Other Impact.com advertisers as we add them
Amazon Associates
CertPath is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. We may earn 4–8% on qualifying purchases of study guides, textbooks, and certification prep materials.
Awin
We are registered publishers on the Awin affiliate network. Through Awin, we may earn commissions from purchases made on affiliated course platforms and training providers.
How to identify affiliate links
Affiliate links on CertPath are marked with rel="sponsored" in the HTML source, in compliance with Google's webmaster guidelines and FTC disclosure requirements.
Study resource sections on certification pages and comparison pages carry a visible label — “Affiliate links — we may earn a commission” — so you always know before you click.
How affiliate relationships affect our content
Our editorial independence is non-negotiable. Affiliate relationships do not influence which certifications we cover, how we score them, or what we write in our guides and comparisons. Certifications are evaluated on their merits — demand, career impact, cost, difficulty, and industry recognition — regardless of whether an affiliated study resource exists for them.
We do not accept payment for positive reviews, inflated scores, or editorial placement. If we recommend a resource, it is because we believe it is genuinely useful to someone preparing for that certification.
FTC compliance
This disclosure is made in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 C.F.R. Part 255). The FTC requires that material connections between endorsers and advertisers be clearly disclosed to readers.
CertPath is based in the United States and complies with applicable FTC disclosure requirements for affiliate marketing.
Opting out of affiliate tracking
You can avoid affiliate tracking by:
- Navigating directly to the retailer or course platform rather than using our links
- Using your browser's private/incognito mode
- Using a browser extension that blocks affiliate tracking (e.g., uBlock Origin)
- Opting out through network-specific opt-out tools (Impact.com, Amazon, Awin each provide these)
If you opt out, you can still access all content on CertPath — opting out only means we do not earn a commission on purchases you make.
